What is Ground Penetrating Radar?

To put it simply, Ground Penetrating Radar (or GPR) shows you what is underneath the surface. It is a technique that uses electromagnetic energy signals to penetrate a variety of materials such as concrete, soil, rock, ice and pretty much any non-metallic and non- conductive media. GPR records signals and bounces information back to a receiver so the data can be interpreted.

The amount of time it takes the radar signal to reach a target determines the depth and location of the sub-surface anomaly. GPR can map targets with pin-point accuracy in depths of up to three feet in man-made material, such as concrete and up to thirty feet in organic media.
